This Site is Down Due to a Hacker Attack ... I woke up sprang down the stairs to start another exciting day and was greeted with an e-mail telling me that something was wrong with AffiliateShowcase.com That was an understatement. Through hook or by crook, someone was able to reach behind our massive corporate level security system, through our hardware and software firewalls to insert malicious code into every single text or character field in every table in the entire database system for AffiliateShowcase and a number of other sites. To make matters worse, they truncated (chopped off) all of the remaining data after inserting their malicious code which left us with approximately 30 characters of garbled data in every field in every table. To give you an idea of the scope of the problem. AffiliateShowcase runs on a custom-built platform of PortalCube, a $30,000.00 portal system and builds every page of thousands of sites dynamicly (completely on the fly). The affected data is crucial to operating, displaying and maintaining all of the AffiliateShowcase sites. The settings, content and membership data all live in the database system that was invaded and corrupted. AffiliateShowcase was created in 2002 and it took literally years to build the content, system and over 45,000 members of AffiliateShowcase. We are currently working to rebuild the system, recalibrate every setting, double-check every bit of content and revitalize our database. Unfortunately, the data corruption included the e-mails of our members in many cases, so we may not have been able to even make all of our members aware of the situation. We are hard at work rebuilding the system and going just as fast as we can. We are hopeful that our members will remain loyal to us as we rebuild the system. Many of our members have been with us for over 6 years and we know that we can count on them to support us in this stressful time.
